Joseph Fleming Prevatt's service to the state of Florida:
Bugler in Col. F. L. Dancey's 2nd Regiment Brigade of Florida Mounted Militia (1841)
Served as a sheriff in Levy County, Florida (1860).
Private under Lutterloh's 1st Battalion Florida Special Cavalry (Munnerlyn's Battalion or Cow Cavalry)
Later, promoted to lieutenant.
